Doneer Effectief en de Tien Procent Club
De Doneer Effectief beweging laat zien dat sommige goede doelen wel honderd keer effectiever zijn dan andere. Maar is de meest effectieve gift ook altijd de juiste gift? Niet alles laat zich vangen in een rekensom — betrokkenheid en nabijheid tellen ook. Ik kan wel uit de voeten met de drie potjes zoals de Tien Procent Club die voorstelt: (a) zorgen voor jezelf en je dierbaren, (b) dan een goed doel dat je persoonlijk raakt en als derde (c) aan het meest effectieve doel. Een manier om hoofd én hart recht te doen.

The Doneer Effectief movement shows that some charities are up to a hundred times more effective than others. But is the most effective gift always the right gift? Not everything can be captured in a calculation — involvement and closeness matter too. I can work with the three pots the Ten Percent Club proposes: (a) taking care of yourself and your loved ones, (b) a cause close to your heart, and (c) the most effective cause. A way to do right by both head and heart.
